The People Behind Code For ME
Student-led energy, community-backed guidance.
We Teach Locally So Students Can Grow Locally.
Code For ME is built on community support, creative learning, and a love for making coding feel accessible to every student who wants to start.
Hello, I'm Katie Willis!
(person on the left)
Harper, a former student of mine, approached me in the spring of 2025 with a clear vision and sincere passion for creating a coding camp in our community. While I myself am still relatively new to coding, I was happy to support her by offering guidance and suggestions as she developed her idea. Together, we held several brainstorming sessions and meetings to map out the logistics for a week-long Python coding summer camp for youth ages 12-16. I'm incredibly proud of what Harper has achieved and look forward to seeing how the program continues to grow and evolve.
Hi, I'm Harper Steenstra!
(person on the right)
I'm the founder of Code For ME and a high school student at Morse High School with a passion for STEM. I created this program because when I was learning to code, it was hard to find beginner-friendly resources that didn’t cost money or require traveling. I wanted to make it easier for kids like me to get started-- all in one place, right in our community. Computer science has helped me grow in so many ways, and now I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and help your child begin their own journey in coding.
